In memoriam

For grandpa, who left us last week.
We love and miss you.

What I did this summer

Why is it so damn hard to start writing these journals? Guess that I can write about the summer then.

Well, it started out nice with a week in Scania (the southern part of sweden) at my dude's summer house. I fell in love with the place instantly. It was like 200 m to the sea and there was a very nice beach and we got lucky with the weather :). While we were there we paid a visit to Denmark.

Then, when me and Stoffe got back, we got to watch the cat and the house while my parents went to Tunisia, then Russia and then Spain. I got some painting work done during that time. And I found myself liking oil paints very much. I made 2 rather large paintings in oils, two birthday gifts actually (will post in gallery). One was for my pa and the other for Stoffe. The last one was very popular as a gift, Stoffe stared at it for like 15 minutes after it gone up on the wall :D.

I worked at the post office for four weeks too. It was my 6:th year there, I think. If you ask me that is the greatest summer job ever! You get a lot of fresh air and some excercise as well. And with it, it comes a welcomed ka-ching in the wallet.
When my four weeks came to an end me and Stoffe went to Scania for a second time. It turned out to be just as nice as the last time.

My studies start september 2:nd, genetics of populations, but only at 25% speed (one evening every week throughout the term). The really interesting stuff comes september 24:th, ethology, human ethology and animal wellfare (I would wery much want to work as an animal cop but the Swedish animal protection system is so crappy and I can save this subject till the time when I wave nothing to write about in the journal).

Also I worked my ass off for the last three days, sorting and throwing away stuff I don't need to make the tiny little appartment work for two.

Yep. That's all I did this summer.

Getting stuff is fun. That's why there are birthdays and Christmases.

I finally got my b-day present (a Finepix s2000HD camera), even if it was a little late. But I dont mind, cause I'm too excited about it :).

So, now when I have my camera, nothing will escape it's lens -> a LOT of pictures. Therfore I will post photos here -> ~SuperSnapper. Hope you'll like 'em!

Resumé 2008

The year of 2008 passed incredibly fast, but yet it was filled with many memorable events.
The first thing I did in 2008 was to move out from my parents', me and Ruanaidh shared a nice little apartment in Stockholm. Later on she moved to Uppsala because of her studies, while I found a room right next to my university campus.

During my summer visit at grandma’s summer place, I met my first ex. He just returned from his duty in Chechnya. It was good to see him alive, since many who are sent there get killed in the war.

I got a nice summer job at the post office when I came back to Sweden again. A mailman’s job is the best summer job ever; you get paid for biking around, enjoying the nice weather. …If your bike isn’t loaded with commercials, which it was. Often.

Escaping a unhealthy relationship, I found another dude to love - the newest addition to the family, our cat. We got him from our ex neighbour, who couldn’t take care of him anymore.

I had some great courses this year as well. The best remembered are ecology, genetics and ethology. During these me and my class mates went to Tovetorp research station (twice) to study animal behaviour, and to the Forensic labs of the government. That was awesome! Another awesome thing is the street funk dance courses I had. Hope that I’ll get to use what I’ve learned.

There have been a lot going on at the artwork front too. Experimenting with different colour types, I found a new favourite; acrylics. It’s a wonderful medium to work with and the results are very good looking, in my opinion. Also I added three new characters(Curt, Lee and Quinny) to my character list. They are the most colourful of all my characters, in all senses. It was fun to work with them in 2008, and I hope it will be just as fun in 2009.

Guess that this is it. Happy New Year to you all!
